The latest news from around the Championship as Bristol City prepare to play Birmingham City

Bristol City are back in action tomorrow away at Birmingham City and the Robins will be keen to pick up a positive result after their 0-0 draw against Coventry City last time out.

Nigel Pearson’s are winless in their last four outings and are 14th in the league table, three points off the play-offs.

Here is a look at the latest news from around the Championship...

Hull City move for new boss falls through

Hull City have been dealt a blow with their move for proposed new boss Pedro Martins falling through. The former Olympiacos man was in line to replace Shota Arveladze at the MKM Stadium but the deal to bring him to East Yorkshire has collapsed.

The Tigers’ owner Acun Ilicali has released a statement on their official club website and has said that he has decided to ‘cancel negotiations’.

Coventry City goalkeeper heads out on loan

Coventry City have allowed young goalkeeper Luke Bell to head out the exit door to get some first-team experience under his belt. The stopper has linked up with the Southern Premier League Division Central side on an initial one-month basis.

Bell, 18, joined the Sky Blues from Wolves two years ago and was handed his first professional contract over the summer. He has since been a regular for their U21s side but has now left for the first time.

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi has left the club on a temporary basis to join Spennymoor Town. He has signed for the National League North outfit until January.

The Uganda international has been recalled from his spell at Hyde United to embark on a new challenge in the North East. He has also had stints at Ramsbottom United, Ebbsfleet United, Stalybridge Celtic, and Brighouse Town over recent times.

Interest in League Two loan man

Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Marc Leonard is apparently attracting interest from the Championship. The midfielder has been spending the first-half of this season on loan in League Two with Northampton Town.

According to reporter Charlie Parker-Turner on Twitter, he is on the radar of second tier trio Sunderland, Preston North End and Huddersfield Town (see tweet below). The 20-year-old is a Scotland youth international.
